Moriarty’s Death
So Moriarty is supposed not returning for Series Three of Sherlock, but something just isn’t right here.
James Moriarty is a master criminal. He runs the crime in pretty much the whole of London, and it would take Sherlock Holmes to beat him. Or would it?
Moriarty has been watching Sherlock for God-knows-how-long (maybe even since his childhood) and knows him very well. If he didn’t, then his plan would have flopped immediately. He knows how Sherlock’s mind works. He knows how different Sherlock is. He knows Sherlock is not even the slightest bit ordinary.
Let’s go to the roof scene now.
Sherlock must have known the code was fake, so Moriarty must have known he’d figure it out. There’s no way Sherlock would chose the roof without intending to use it, and Moriarty should know this.
He’s a master criminal, for God’s sake. For him to not work out Sherlock’s plan is out of character. He would have at least doubted that Sherlock would know, and that doubt would stop him from killing himself. He would have at least worked out part of Sherlock’s plan.
Also, when Steven Moffat was asked if Moriarty survived, he replied, “Did you see all that blood?” which is a neutral answer.
So what is Moriarty really planning?
